(01) Case study
The brief
Marrow is a family-run mill that has woven wool in Glasgow since 1891. A new generation was reviving the mill’s archive of heritage patterns for contemporary interiors, and they needed an identity that respected the past without looking like a museum.
Woven into motion
The identity takes its structure from the loom. The wordmark is drawn on a weave grid, and the motion system builds every animation thread by thread, the way cloth comes off the machine.
We produced a short launch film shot entirely inside the mill, pairing archive patterns with the people who still make them by hand.
Outcome
The relaunch introduced Marrow to interior studios across Europe. The first collection sold out in eight weeks, and the launch film now plays in the mill’s new visitor space.
