(01) Case study
The brief
Halden builds speakers by hand in a small workshop outside Oslo. The products were exceptional, but the brand looked like every other premium audio company: black boxes, gradients and very loud claims. They wanted something as patient as the products themselves.
Quiet by design
We built the brand around restraint. A single serif-free wordmark, unbleached board packaging and dithered engravings that print beautifully in one colour. Each box carries the name of the person who tuned the speaker inside it.
The packaging uses no plastic, no foam and no glue. It folds from one sheet and is designed to be kept, not thrown away.
Outcome
Halden launched the new identity alongside its second speaker in 2025. Direct sales doubled within the year, and the packaging was shortlisted for two European design awards.
